17 years later, the USA and Hungary back together in the final!
The USA and Hungary meet for the 2nd time in a Women's World League Final, after 2004 in the first event (Long Beach), where the Americans emerged victorious with 12-10 and since then, they added another 12 respective titles in 14 finals!
The only time they lost was in 2008 (Santa Cruz), where Russia was the one to celebrate (8-7). Tomorrow's final is the 7th consecutive for the USA, which even has "6 out of 6".
For another two years, apart from 2008, the United States was out of contention for the gold medal. In 2005 (Kirisi), where Greece climbed to the highest step and the Americans remained 5th, and in 2013 when China reached the final with Russia (8-7) and the USA was reduced to 3rd place.
For Hungary, the participation in the final in 2004, brought her the only medal (silver) in the event.
