It is my pleasure to welcome all the players, coaches and officials to the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League Super Final 2021 to take place from June 14-19, with the participation of the best eight teams of the preliminary rounds. The 2021 edition of the World League Super Final is highlighted by the participation of the Canada, Hungary, Japan, Russia, USA, Spain, Kazakhstan and Greece, demonstrating the universality of this League and the interest of the cities hosting the final stages of the competition.

The coexistence of powerhouses in the sport with emerging nations that are battling to develop the sport in their territory reinforces one of FINA’s goals over the last years: attract a new and larger public to ensure a wider TV audience for this historical Olympic discipline (the oldest team sport in the Olympic programme).

On this occasion we express our gratitude to the Hellenic Swimming Federation, the Organizing Committee, National Federations, athletes, coaches and officials participating in the 2021 edition of the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League.

Our gratitude also goes to all those involved in the promotion of this event, namely the media representatives, the sponsors. Thanks to the players, coaches and officials, for their hard work and excellent performances which enhance Water Polo’s image worldwide.

It is a great honor for our country, the birthplace of Sports and Olympic Games, to be hosting the “FINA WOMEN’S WATER POLO WORLD LEAGUE SUPER FINAL 2021”.

Greece has a long tradition in excellent organization of world events, especially in Aquatics with the co-operation of the Hellenic Swimming Federation and FINA. Thank you to everyone who has made this moment possible.

First of all, I would like to thank all FINA members for their decision to hold this event in the beautiful city of Athens, the last biggest event before the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Athens has repeatedly hosted some of the most important and prestigious Aquatic Events with great success. I would like to reassure you that all people involved in this event, our committed employees and volunteers, will do their best to hold another successful competition!

We look forward to sharing with you this event and we trust everyone will have a wonderful experience in our modern, vibrant and exciting city.

It will be a great honor and pleasure to host 2021 FINA Women’s Water Polo World League - Super Final, at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens.

The participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience combining participation in the venues where modern Olympics took place, discover Greek history and the birthplace of the Olympics, great hospitality and Mediterranean climate. The long experience of Greece in mega-events will ensure the success of the Super-Final.

The Olympic Aquatic Center of Athens will proudly host the most important global water polo event before the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
